Who We Are
Softech Engineering, headquartered in Quincey, MI, is an industrial control system and manufacturing operations engineering, construction management, and consulting firm. We plan, design, construct and start up production processes and machines, troubleshoot and revamp existing systems, and provide automation expertise to help our customers achieve high quality, reliability, and maintainability they want in their production systems.
Celebrating Employee Ownership
In 2025, Softech Engineering will celebrate 39 years of being 100 percent employee owned. These years are a small portion of our heritage, but they play a formative role in how we continue to serve our clients today. Softech offers in-house, single source electrical design, electrical construction, project management and construction services. From the planning table to the plant floor, Softech is with our clients every step of the way. We will assist with preliminary budgeting and help develop cost effective designs, setting the stage for a quick and efficient startup. Softech helps our clients manage risk and eliminate costly gaps or oversights by focusing on all project activities—from planning through completion.
WHAT WE DO
Electrical Design
Nothing changes so much in this world than the designs of electrical control systems. The only way to keep up with the technology is to be constantly involved in state of the art projects. Over the years, we have generated electrical designs using all kinds of components. We have developed an expertise in figuring out somebody else’s electrical prints and troubleshooting their systems. We have tremendous experience with plant floor communications networks and have spent many late nights pinpointing troublesome communications glitch and providing a permanent fix.
Process Automation
From big to small, SofTech Engineering has worked with businesses across the country in many industries to help them with their process. We are known for rolling up the sleeves, sharpening the pencil, and solving process issues to give the customer the quality, reliability, and maintainability that they are looking for. Our experience working on processes of all kinds accounts for our ability in solving mysterious process issues that stump our competition.
Project Management
Avoiding the pitfalls of construction and startup is a determining factor in getting to the end of a project in time and on budget. Our experience serves us well when providing construction management or when called in to rein in some facet of the construction that has gone awry. The best situations are when we are involved in the design, the construction, the programming, and the startup. We are well known for driving projects to completion by keeping an eye on the details, recognizing early what will be the problem areas, and then keenly attacking them.
Programming Services
If we are known best for anything, it is our industrial programming. There are a lot of programmers out there who can write a program and get something to "basically work". But the devil is in the details. The code must be reliable and maintainable which means the underlying structure must be solid as a rock. (How is your alarm interlocking? Do your programs “hang”? Is it easy to map out modifications? Is your HMI easy to use?). We can write your programs or we can define your strategy and your code standards – enterprise wide. Those who we have worked for are, to this day, reaping the many cost benefits of our relationship.
